Grand Opening

Congratulations Royal Oak First!

Today marks a historic moment in the life of this church and you, every single one of you, helped make this possible. The completion of this historic building renovation is the culmination of years of prayer, vision, and planning. This moment took courage and patience – it took perseverance and flexibility. Today we thank God for its completion.

Over the next few months, we will be moving in and hanging art on the walls. There are a few spots that need a little paint and some freshening up. It might take a few minutes to figure out where everything was stored and where will be its new home. But today we declare that this building is open for business and that we are determined to share this gift of our building and our fellowship with the community.

Over this next month, we are hosting a wide range of events that we hope we will give you the chance to invite a friend or neighbor to share in this celebration. There is truly something for everyone. We have free yoga, a painting night, Saturday Night Super Club, an author, a former NFL player, and even a comedy night. On the way out today you will be given a schedule for this Grand Opening. Please plan to come to one or more of these events and make sure to bring someone with you.

I was not here when the renovation project began. So I want to thank all of those who helped make the plans and raised the funds to make this moment a reality. You should be proud. God has used your faithfulness to be a part of something truly significant. For all those who, like my family, have joined this movement during the renovation, we again affirm our welcome to you and say we are glad you are here. This place and the movement within it are now yours as well.

Together we will continue to make Christ’s love real to each other, to our neighbors, and to the community around us!

Congratulations, friends. It has been a long journey. Take a moment and enjoy the fruit of your labors!

Grace and Peace,
